Designed for Those with Desire to Positively Impact and Improve Canine / Human Relationships. Shadowing is particularly useful when deciding if this industry is right for you!
You will shadow Elaine through structured days that include working with training dogs, client calls, follow-up private lessons, and field trips where we will proof skills and behavior in real-world settings. Limited to two shadows per program class
You will observe:
- How to effectively “speak dog”: reading and understanding dog’s body language
- Develop a synergy between dog and human that is both liberating and unmatched
- How to motivate and positively influence dogs
- How to handle and correct leash reactivity
- How your energy affects a dog’s energy and can ultimately create reactivity
- How dogs communicate with each other
- How to develop an awareness of human self-talk that limits and prevents us from enjoying a fulfilling partnership with dogs and gain self-awareness to upscale your dog’s energy. A conscious and self-aware human can better help dogs learn to default to safer and more appropriate behavioral responses
- How to resolve typical, unwanted behaviors
- Pressure / release leash work
Reactive, loud insecurities are replaced with the quiet, calm confidence of a dog who trusts & feels safe in a predictable, consistent environment which fosters optimal learning. The brain seeks patterns and these patterns allow a dog’s system to relax.
Where: In our home-away-from-home environment
Fees: $300 per day, minimum 5 days * Schedule: 6 AM to 12 PM |alternating days| 12 PM to 6 PM
You Will:
- Observe one-on-one private sessions
- Participate in pack walks
- Attend dog socials and learn how to reset and redirect over excited or high adrenalin dogs
- Learn how to move a dog through all thresholds including crate, fence, car, house, and store
- Learn how to create a daily dog ritual and schedule that optimizes long term learning
- Practice with various tools, understanding their efficacies and identifying best approaches dependent upon the needs of the dog.
