Elaine Poulin has worked with dogs - both formally and informally - all of her life. Possessing an inherent love and understanding of dogs, she uses these attributes to help dogs and their owners form balanced, rewarding relationships with each other. After earning her Master of Education degree, Elaine began her teaching career with special needs children, followed by English as a Second Language to adult learners. After many years in the classroom, Elaine was called to follow her lifelong passion to work with dogs and their humans. She attended the National K9 School in Columbus, OH in 2005 and then Elaine founded Carolina Dog Training in 2006.
She has since, over the years, been privileged to work and learn from experts around the country such as Cesar Milan, who is known as National Geographic’s The Dog Whisperer; Todd Langston, who has worked as head trainer for Cesar Milan; Martin Deeley, who was the Executive Director, Past President, and Co-Founder of the International Association of Canine Professionals; and Robin MacFarlane, owner of That’s My Dog!. Elaine’s work has evolved to include many effective techniques, thus developing her own unique style and methods derived from the years spent instructing and inspiring people to become successful learners.
