Designed for Those with Desire to Positively Impact and Improve Canine / Human Relationships. This program is particularly beneficial for professionals wishing to hone skills & those seeking a career in dog training.
You will work directly with Elaine throughout the day receiving direct, hands-on instruction with training dogs, private sessions and field trips. Each structured day includes threshold work, feeding, pack walks, skill drills, and social time in a variety of real-world settings.
You Will Learn and Practice:
- Strategies to increase wanted and decrease or eliminate unwanted behaviors
- How to successfully move a dog from flight, fight, freeze survival responses to calm, appropriate behavior, and seize opportunities to address conflict and apply new skills
- Mindfulness and self-awareness exercises with emphasis on human intention and self-regulation to build resilience
- How to teach skills such as come, place, heel, wait and increase the 3D’s: distraction, distance, and duration using a motivational approach. Cooperation is stronger than coercion
Connection is vital. It wires the brain for impulse control. Good manner skills build impulse control & emotional regulation.
Where: In our home-away-from-home environment
Fees: $400 per day, minimum 10 days * Schedule: 6 AM to 12 PM |alternating days| 12 PM to 6 PM
You Will:
- Learn the four components of connection (P.E.T.)
- Participate in one-on-one private sessions
- Conduct and supervise dog socials
- Practice off-leash pack walks and learn how to manage dogs around distractions
- Learn how to master the walk with multiple dogs
- Observe communication with clients and problem-solving strategies, develop strong relationships, and create a streamlined, efficient, and calm office environment
- Practice with various tools including the remote training collar, understanding the efficacies and identifying best approaches dependent upon the needs of the dog.
